About this experience

Class Schedule: Wednesday, June 5.   6 - 8 PM

Instructor: Ann Konzen

This class is one session long. Please ensure you are available for the session before booking your spot. See cancellation policy below.

Short rows are often included in the neck or shoulder shaping of sweaters. Getting short rows to look nice can be a problem since we are interrupting fabric!
Ann will walk you through the execution and application of wrap and turn short rows, German short rows, and Japanese and Shadow short rows. She'll make sure you can resolve them with ease.
Knitters should be able to cast on, knit, and purl without Ann’s help.

Homework

  • Using worsted weight yarn in 2 contrasting colors with size US 7 or 8 needles work the following swatch(es).
  • Before class work the first 9 rows of the swatch so you’re ready to practice short rows! If you are a slow knitter or are worried you’ll get flustered or fall behind, make four of these set up row swatches on different needles. Then you’ll be ready to go for each set of short rows.
  • Using Main Color (MC), cast on 31 stitches.
  • Knit 4 rows.
  • Row 5: (WS) K 3, P 25, K 3.
