About this experience

Have you been eyeing a sweater pattern but feel intimidated to start? Struggled with sweaters that don’t fit quite right? Want to dive deeper into pattern decoding, yarn selection, and achieving the perfect fit? Or do you simply love knitting sweaters alongside fellow knitters?

Then this workshop is for you!

In this 6-session class over 9 weeks, you’ll work through your own sweater project while learning from and being inspired by 11 other knitters doing the same. By the end, you won’t just have a finished sweater—you’ll have the confidence, skills, and motivation for your next one!

Class Agenda

Each session is customized to meet the needs of the participants. We’ll start by laying the foundation for a well-fitting, well-loved garment, covering essential techniques and adjustments. Throughout the workshop, we’ll check in regularly for accountability, troubleshooting, and skill-building. In the final session, we’ll celebrate our hard work by finishing our sweaters and showcasing them in a Workshop Fashion Show!

Heather Swan learned to crochet and sew as a young child. Her sewing stuck with her for years and then she picked up some knitting needles over 15 years ago never looking back. She eventually went back to her roots and started to crochet again. And as she has been falling down the fiber arts rabbit hole, she also enjoys spinning and weaving. Heather has coached youth sports since she was a youth and enjoys passing along her knowledge to help others take their interests to the next step. If you enjoy learning and laughing, you will definitely enjoy spending time at the table with Heather picking up a new skill.

Carly Hampton learned to knit and crochet first as a young child. She instantly fell in love and, after some time committed to dance and sports, picked it back up as an undergraduate student. Since then, she has been a prolific knitter completing a variety of garments and accessories each year. She loves learning new techniques and trying out new skills. Her love of knitting, yarn, and fiber has also lead her to become the natural yarn dyer of Forager Fiber Studio and try out other fiber arts.
