SockAlong '24

December 1 - 29, 2024

Join us for our first SockAlong, a cozy stitch-along running from December 1st - 29th! Whether you're a seasoned sock maker or new to the world of cozy footwear, this is the perfect way to spend your December stitching up a pair (or two) of beautiful handmade socks.

Meet other sock enthusiasts, share your progress, and get ready for a month of stitching and fun. We’ll gather every Sunday from 1-3 PM throughout the month to chat, share tips, and support each other as we knit and crochet our way through the holidays.

Whether you're gifting your finished socks or keeping them for yourself, our SockAlong is a perfect way to wrap up the year with cozy crafting and community. We can't wait to stitch with you!

SAL Schedule

Kick Off: Sunday, December 1. 1 - 3 PM

SAL Socials: Sundays 1 - 3 PM

SAL Finale & Raffle Drawing: Sunday, Dec 29. 1 - 3 PM

Featured Patterns

Knit: Rockmill Socks by Kerri Blumer

Crochet: Perfect Crochet Socks by B.Hooked

Is there a different pattern you've had your eye on? No worries! Feel free to use whichever pattern you'd like. Just be sure to select the "Choose My Own Pattern" option when signing up.

If you choose to make one of the featured patterns, you will receive a printed copy and will get the pattern sent to you on Ravelry or via email. If you'd like to receive the pattern on Ravelry, please leave your Ravelry ID in the order notes. If no Ravelry ID is included, we will send your pattern to the email provided. Not all patterns are able to be sent through Ravelry. 

Yarn

If you choose to purchase yarn for the Stitch Along from Yarncom, select the "Yarn from Yarncom" option when signing up. There is no fee for this option and you get the recommended pattern for free!

If you'd like to use your own stash for the SAL please select the "Stash Buster" option. There is a $10 fee for this option and the recommended pattern is included.

**Featured patterns will be sent after confirmation of payment or purchase of yarn.

Need Help?

We're excited to offer the help table for stitchers that may be learning a few new techniques in their project, and need a little help along the way. As a reminder, this is NOT a class. For those that prefer to have assistance getting through a single technique required in the pattern, or just want additional guidance or encouragement through the process our help table is great!

If you'd like to have access to the help table at every SAL Social for the duration of the Stitch Along (5 Sessions), select the "Help Table" option when signing up. This one time $30 fee gives you a seat at the help table every week!

If you're confident in your stitching abilities and don't need help during the SAL, select "No Help".

If you signed up for "No Help" but ended up needing some assistance, you can purchase a one-time help session for $15 at one of the SAL Socials. This is only valid for one help session.

Help Sessions are only offered in person.

Online Participation

Our online community is welcome to participate in Yarncom SAL's!

Here are the rules:

• Post your participating WIP on Instagram
• Tag us @yarncom
• Include #ycsockalong in your post caption.

Each qualifying post will get you 1 entry into our SAL Gift Card Giveaway! Instagram Only.

If you complete your project within the timeline of the SAL you are eligible our Finished Object Gift Card Giveaway and can enter by completing our FO Giveaway Google Form.

Raffles & Prizes

By entering the SAL you will become eligible to win a $15 Yarncom Gift Card at the end. How do you enter the raffle? You will receive tickets by doing the following:

• Sign up for the SAL
• Attend the SAL Kick Off on December 1st!
• Attend one or ALL of our Sunday SAL socials from Dec 1 - 29.
• Purchase your yarn for the SAL from Yarncom.

And for our finishers, we will have another raffle for a $25 Yarncom Gift Card! To enter:

• You must not start your project prior to November 3rd.
• You have purchased your yarn from Yarncom for this SAL.
• You have all of the project completed and attend the December 29th Finale OR Submit the FO Giveaway Google Form by 9:30 AM on December 29th.
